My research project for my MA in Design Management highlights the vital issue of women's health by tackling the often-taboo topic of urinary incontinence. It shines a light on the experiences of older women in Hong Kong as they navigate this common condition. By addressing the cultural attitudes that foster feelings of shame and negativity, we can empower these women to reclaim their quality of life.

In my thesis, I closely examine how women aged 65 and older perceive their digital bodies and technology. I specifically focus on the impact of urinary incontinence on physically active women in this age group, aiming to understand their concerns and the challenges they face. Additionally, I explore current and emerging trends in e-textiles and smart clothing designed for this demographic. My ultimate goal is to develop an effective design concept for the FemCare e-textile sector, empowering independent older women and enhancing their overall quality of life.
